Stuart Lucy

Stuart Lucy hit his favoured Essex pit to capture this 17lb Pike. It fell to a popped up, ledgered dead bait. Unfortunately he also lost a bigger fish of around the 20lbs mark in the same session.
Better luck next time!

Eric Robinson

A couple of trips over the month have reulted in a few 'Immaculate' fish for Eric Robinson. fish and added one that I caught this afternoon. Here's a couple of those he's landed from the Rivers Swale & Tees. Both fell to Mackeral.
He looks really chipper and warm in his new PAC woolly hat - must be lucky? It certainly looks good on him.

Christmas is just a few weeks away (Hint, Hint) so why not place an order or two on the PAC Shop for some quality gear and put a smile on our product manager's face!

John Burton

West Sussex member John Burton caught this fine pike of 15.06 from the River Adur in the same county. This river certainly holds a fine stamp of large pike, and in a beautiful condition as this picture proves.

Mark Green

The pike on his local lake have been feeding recently for Mark Green. A couple of short after- work sessions between 3pm & 7pm have produced some nice fish for him.
Here are two of them that weighed in at 22.00 & 17.04. He also managed a 15.00 just ten minutes after the 22.

Ant Glascoe

With the country experiencing some awful weather conditions at present, the indomitable Ant Glascoe put in a couple of hours fishing recently on the canal. Battling 50mph winds, face splitting rain and gales,he spent the session leap-frogging dead-baits for a mammoth catch of 18 doubles, including 2 over the 20lb mark to 23lbs. (Pictured below)
He sent me loads of pictures, but one other I felt needed to be added shows exactly why every pike angler should carry a decent pair of hook cutters with them; after this scraper double decided to tail walk with a flying treble esconced firmly in Ant's finger. A quick turn of the hook point and snip from the cutters saw he free to unhook and sack-up the pike. After a bit of first aid, he even maneged to smile for the camera.
A valid reminder for us all to carry decent cutters and first aid kit with us, even for a short session.

Nigel Rouse

A fairly New convert from Carp Angling to fishing for Pike, has seen Nigel pay a couple of annual visits to Chew Reservoir without much luck until last weekend.
He paid the venue two visits, the first on the Wednesday saw them land just a couple of jacks. Speaking afterwards to a member who had been fishing there for many years that gave hims loads of advice and tips, so the following weekend he put his advice into practice, and what a result the pair of friends had.
In his own words:-
"On the Saturday we had a slow start after drifting a fair bit with lures, then in the afternoon we found some good shoals of fish that could have been trout, with pike close behind, so we drifted a bit more over the top until we had a few follows and then one jack. We then anchored up and stuck some deadbaits out, and within half an hour I had a fish of around 12lb. Then my boat partner had 2 more about the same size within the next hour. At then just as the light had almost gone (about 4.30pm), his rod screamed off and after playing it to the net it hit the scales at 21lb 5oz, a new pb by 3lbs!! what a result.
Heading back to our B&B very happy, we decided to employ the same tactics the following day.
Getting to our chosen spot at about 9am, we made sure we organised ourselves and got baits out by 9.30. By 11am, and with no takes we decided to move only 50 yards, within 15mins I took a fish of around 11lb, a good move i thought. Then at 12.30pm, my float leger dissapeared, I left it say 5 seconds as we found the pike were taking aggresively; and when I wound in the slack the fish was nearly at the boat! She made a dive straight under the boat, which at first was a nightmare as we had anchors out front and back. If she had gone round them I thought it was the end, so I let her take a bit of line - then she backed off, and as luck would have it she swam straight out the way she went in!!! Anyway she hit the scales at 26lb 10oz, a new pb for me by nearly 10lb!!!! Apart from being blind in one eye she was a stunning fish!
It was the stuff of dreams for me, and Ihave been dreaming of it ever since Now I cant wait to get back out with the rods!
I would like to add that if anyone wants to buy some carp gear, let me know!! I'm a piker all the way now!! I would also like to say a big thanks to the guy who gave us the advice!! if I see you up there next year i will buy you a beer!

Dan Clarke

Surrey angler Dan Clarke nabbed a couple of mid-doubles on a recent trip to a Sussex Venue. One at 14.06 and the other at 15.03, with both falling to Lamprey.

Paddy Toner

Paddy certainly seems to know the feeding patterns of the pike on his local waters. Here's just a couple of the many pike he's taken recently during short early morning trips.
It just goes to show that long sessions are not always required to enjoy some great sport, especially at this time of year whilst the pike are still active.

Ant Glascoe

Note the serious expression, the way he cradles his capture with such care and thought! An inspiration to all of us on how to hold a PB 'tyre'. My God, those SavaGear lures will catch anything!
My thanks to Ant for sharing that special capture with us all. Makes my mobile phone in Red leather case from the 16ft (whilst wobbling a roach) many years ago seem purile and worthless.
Drop us a line folks on any of your own un-usual captures of boots, etc. Be kind of nice to see who holds these other un-usual British Rod Caught Records!
As suggested by one of my colleagues the title should have read....wait for it.

Ant Glascoe

He's been at it again! A couple of early Autumn trips over the Halloween period with a few of his Glaswegian buddies, chucking out jerk-baits and the latest patterns of the especial Deviator lures from SavaGear, produced some hectic action for Ant and his mates.
The two-day session produced countless pike, and some great moments. Mind you, the pike did not appreciate the look of Ant's kisser coming towards it as much as it appreciated the look of the Deviator. No Contest!
